We at First Baptist Poinciana are in much prayer that God will deliver us from the present challenges related to the COVID-19 outbreak. After much prayer and consultation with medical professionals, community leaders, and church leaders, we have determined that for the time being we will not be hosting any public worship gatherings or other activities here at the church. This means there will be no Wednesday or Sunday services/activities available to the mass public at the church until further notice.
This is not something we have undertaken lightly. We trust in God and believe in His provision in all things. We are not enthusiastic about closing our doors in this manner. That being said, because of the highly contagious nature of this virus and the mortality rate of those infected we are taking this measure to protect the physical well-being of our attendees and members. We pray and hope for this to be a very short-lived adjustment to our ministry.
In the meantime we want you to worship with us each Sunday. You can do this online. At present the time every Sunday at 10:45am we will live-cast a worship service over the web. This will give you the opportunity to worship via the web in your home with your family, friends, neighbors, etc. If you like you can watch the recorded service at a later date and time. We also will be providing other resources online to assist you with your Bible study and spiritual well-being so keep checking our website.
This is not ideal, but it is a necessary step we must take at this time. It is an incredibly hard thing for all of us to experience, but rest assured God will bring us through this and we will be able to regather as a loving family in the days ahead. The sooner the better.
Your pastors here know that many of you are going through tough times and we are praying for all of you. We know you may be struggling with illness, family and financial issues. We are still here for you. You can reach me at 407.956.7880 if you have questions or have needs that we can help you with.
Please remember that though we are not meeting together in large groups at this time we are still ministering and therefore we are dependent on your free-will tithes and offerings to fulfill the calling God has given to us to reach the world with the good news of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your continued support in this area.
And please join us in fervent, earnest, regular prayer for God’s deliverance of our church, community, nation and world from COVID-19. In closing I want to remind you of these words and precious promises of God for His people:
13 When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, 14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 (ESV)
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. Psalm 91:1-3 (ESV)
In the Love of Christ,
Pastor Wayne and the FBCP Staff.
